The Doctrine Of Christ

We’ll be starting our study of the “doctrine of Christ” during our weekly Friday bible studies. This study focuses on some very critical and important foundations of the Christian faith. Our understanding of these truths will  give us a clear understanding of Christ and help us to distinguish between true Christianity and false religion which sometimes refer to Christ. We’ll be looking specifically at:

  1. The virgin birth of Christ
  2. The incarnation of Christ
  3. The deity of Christ
  4. The humanity of Christ
  5. Christ died for us all
  6. The bodily resurrection of Christ

Gifted

We’ll be starting our “Gifted” teaching series this month, which will focus on the spiritual gifts  that Christians receive from the trinity or God head: Gifts of the father (Romans 12:3-8), gifts of the Son (Ephesians 4:10-11) and gifts of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:7-10). Most of the time when we hear about spiritual gifts, we often think only about the gifts of the Holy Spirit. However, there are other gifts that God gives to us to help us fulfil our individual call.

Have a great month ahead.

Who Is The Holy Spirit?

Welcome to the month of  transformation (2 Corinthians  3:18). I always find learning about Jesus Christ really exciting. Each time I read about His life in the bible, it  stirs up something in me that causes me to want to be just like Him. We just completed our four series teaching on Jesus. We started from the the fall of man, the effects of sin through the fall on man and creation, the Cross, the resurrection, the second coming and the white throne judgement.

This month, we’ll be looking at who the Holy Spirit is, the manifestation of the Spirit, speaking in tongues and how the Spirit empowers us to live the Christian life.

Jesus Series @CFT Bristol

We are all looking forward to the Easter holiday. It should hopefully jungle our memory again with regards to the price that God paid to save us. We’ll be looking at the life of Jesus during our Sunday meetings for the next five weeks. We’ll examine where it all started…. the garden of Eden (Genesis, chapter 3).

The Mind Of Man

I had planned to do a teaching series on the Holy Spirit during this month. However, I got a tug in my spirit to look at an area that I sense is pertinent for us now. This area is “The Mind of Man”. Looking deeply into the importance of the mind, I began to see again that man’s mind plays a very crucial role determining how one views oneself, how one relates to God and respond to His purpose for one’s life. We’ll be looking at this and so many things around the mind of man during the month of March.

The Holy Spirit

Welcome to another wonderful month. We started our weekly friday bible studies this year and have had a
great time learning the doctrines of God. We’ll be looking at the Holy Spirit this month: Who is the Holy
Spirit?, the gifts of the Spirit, speaking in tongues.

Marriage Relationships

We just completed our relationship series which proved to be an “eye opener”. We noted that the bible has a lot to say about this area and identified the difference between the views of “popular culture” vs the ageless truth of God’s word. Really interesting and thought provoking.

Relationships

God made us relational beings. Seeking friendships and relationships is part of life. However, the relationships we get involved in have a great impact on how our lives turn out. We looked at pre-marital relations and Gods’ view on these in the second and third part of our teaching series.

What is the Church?

When I ask people what the church is, I often get numerous responses. Some people say the church is a “building” where people meet on sundays to sing hymns and listen to bible teachings. Some people say the church is an “organisation” that does charitable deeds. On the extreme, some people say that the church is responsible for some unmentionable atrocities and is just “organised” religion.

We’ll be spending the whole of this month, during our Sunday meetings to really look at what the Church of God, from a biblical context. We’ll be looking at how one becomes a member of the church of God, what the church does, how the church lives and the things that the church does.

Happy New Year!

Welcome to the “Month of Divine Visitation” as declared by our General Overseer, Apostle ATB Williams.

This year, 2017 promises to be an exciting year and has been tagged, “The Year of Transformation”. Revelation 21:5 says God makes all things new. We are looking forward to all the things that God is going to do in our lives as individuals and as a church this year.

Have a happy and prosperous new year.
