There was a time that I was quite unwell whilst I was in secondary school – boarding school. This was over thirty years ago (which gives you an idea of how old I am). I was down with a fever and it lasted for about two weeks. Those two weeks seemed like twenty years – I was very uncomfortable.

You might ask the question, “what does this have to do with perseverance?”. It was the principle of perseverance that got me through that bout in my life. In my own words, I would describe perseverance as getting through present challenges by focusing on a better future.

Let’s persevere though any uncomfortable current circumstance using this principle. Better still we can focus on God’s promises to us as the means of perseverance. Hebrews 10:36 says, “You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.”

Have a great month ahead.
